Abstract

The scattering of radiation from a fiber laser in a medium made of transparent dielectric particles is studied using numerical simulation. The simulation was carried out for a number of materials with a wide range of refractive index (MgF2, CaF2, SiO2, BaF2, MgAl2O4, Al2O3, Y2O3, YSZ, TiO2). It is found that within the width of the spectral line of radiation (λ = (1.07±0.00325) μm), the maximum intensity can vary in a wide range of values, which is qualitatively consistent with a large spread of experimentally measured delay times for the appearance of a laser flare.
